Foot Volley started in Rio de Janeiro and was created by Octavio de Moraes in 1965 at the famous Copacabana Beach.
There are versions of this game throughout South America and Asia, all with different names and different rules, and net heights.
Sand City uses a version that is set to cater to a wider skill level, but experience at soccer is certainly an advantage.
Played like volleyball, but with a lower net using teams of four-a-side with 3 touches allowed before you send it back to the other side.
The peak body responsible for foot volley in Australia is Foot Volley Australia (FVA). FVA was founded in 2007 in the Northern Beaches of Sydney and was formed to promote foot volley here in Australia.
